microCloud Filling

What is microCloud filling?

microCloud filling is a unique recipe of man-made polyester high-tech fibre designed to provide 'down-like', blissful comfort and a superior support for the head, neck and shoulders, with the added benefits of being hypoallergenic, machine washable and tumble dryable.

Why is microCloud better than down?

microCloud filling mimics the unique comfort of down, which over 80 per cent of people prefer. The microCloud advantage is that comfort is achieved at a more affordable price, without harming birds, and the filling provides greater health benefits than down.

Why create microCloud?

Most ordinary pillows are filled with substandard polyester filling of varying types and weights. These fillings tend to become flat and lumpy after a very short time and need replacing, which is costly. microCloud pillows are created to ensure your guests are provided with a filling of great value and integrity with more comfort and support.

Where was microCloud filling developed?

microCloud filling was developed in Melbourne, Australia, about five years ago specifically for first-class hotels, motels, resorts and apartments to significantly improve pillow quality for guests. The development process was intensive, entailing thorough testing and user feedback (including that from hotels and housekeepers). The result is that today microCloud is a reputable, leading brand of genuine luxury pillows that thousands of guests have come to respect and enjoy.

Does microCloud filling have good recovery and loft?

The unique recipe of high-tech polyester fibres that is microCloud filling ensures outstanding recovery and bounce back. microCloud filling has been extensively tested in the laboratory and field to ensure its loft matches that of down and far surpasses that of cheaper polyester fibres that become flat and lumpy quickly.

microCloud Pillows

Are microCloud pillows available for purchase directly by the public?

Yes. We are always pleased to assist with all enquiries from the general public and we deliver all over Australia.

Why are pillows important to my guests?

Guests are always seeking a healthy sleep experience, and comfort goes a long way to ensure that sleep is achieved. Flat, lumpy and even overfilled pillows can cause a guest discomfort and irritation. Pillows play a vital and essential role in pleasing guests, and they will be delighted with your property if they have been valued and respected. The only way to achieve this is to ensure that superbly comfortable and reliable pillows are used for guests.

Who should use microCloud pillows?

microCloud pillows are designed for all types of guests and can be 'shaped' to allow the best support for all sleeping positions. Because microCloud pillows can be machine washed and tumble dried, they are ideal for allergy sufferers, and in cases where head lice, bed bugs and dust mites have been a problem, they are an absolute advantage.

Do microCloud pillows breathe?

microCloud pillows allow and ensure maximum airflow for better health and comfort. If you squeeze a microCloud near flat, you will see just how much air is trapped in the pillow and how quickly it moves through the outer cotton casing.

Are microCloud pillows healthy?

Yes, they are free of any animal contamination (e.g. prickly feathers) and dust. In fact, microCloud pillows are fresh, hygienic and odourless too. As a bonus, every microCloud pillow comes complete with two quality stain-resistant, machine-washable protectors to conveniently keep microCloud pillows fresher for longer. We recommend the use of our protector for the best results.

What about feather/down type pillows?

More and more people are turning away from these types of pillows, given retail sale figures over the past 20 years. Allergy issues, odours and annoying prickly feathers do not make these pillows a rational choice – and they are noisy! A genuine goose down pillow may be comfortable, but the cost is prohibitive. Our advice, based on guest feedback, is to avoid feather pillows for your guests.

What about foam/core-type pillows?

Foam wrapped with polyester filling may provide better lasting properties but the outer polyester filling will be a problem, as it will flatten to the core over time. In addition, we know that comfort is vital to guests' quality of sleep and given the foam core is rigid, they cannot shape these pillows to suit personal comfort.

Why do so many pillows flatten or go lumpy so quickly?

Most polyester filled pillows use low-cost fibres and basic processing that simply do not allow these pillows to retain their initial loft. Every time these pillows are used, they lose their height until they become useless and lifeless. Few have any redeeming benefits for your guests and therefore your business, and their short life cycle simply clogs up landfill at your expense.

Why do microCloud pillows last so much longer?

We spent many years trialling, testing and refining our work in this area to reach a standard that we are extremely proud of – the dream pillow. One of our successful tests involved flattening a microCloud pillow repeatedly for 100,000 cycles to ensure that the unique high-tech filling bounced back after being plumped. We also very generously fill our pillows: no short cuts and no tricks!

The outstanding pure cotton japara used for the pillow casing is an elite fabric, being soft, breathable and durable for many years. Moreover, our design team insisted on using a high-quality parallel twin stitch and piping.

Are your pillows cruelty-free or Vegan?

Yes. Most conventional pillows use feathers or down. These are harvested via live plucking, a process whereby live birds are held down by their necks and workers will pluck feathers from their bodies. It's not uncommon for the geese or ducks to have a wing or leg broken in the process.

microCloud Pillows are innovative as they do not use any animal products and are 100% cruelty-free. Instead they are filled with a unique blend of hi-tech man-made fibres that achieve a similar luxurious feel as pure goose down. A bonus is that the microCloud fibre filling has been crafted to provide better 'bounce-back' and head and neck support than goose down or feathers. This is why our pillows are so popular among the Vegan market.

How much should a property pay for pillows?

Buying cheap pillows that need replacing frequently and offer little or no benefit is simply throwing money away. If you invest in quality and comfort, your business will reap the rewards. If you are genuinely committed to your guests for the success of your business provide them with the highest quality of pillow they deserve, one that offers comfort, longevity and the best value for money.

What casing is used for microCloud pillows?

All microCloud pillows use only the very finest quality of high thread count, japara cotton fabric. Not only is cotton a healthy choice for casing, the pillow will last longer and feel superb. In order to cut costs, many cheap pillows are made of very poor quality casings, which leaves guests feeling disappointed.

What is the quality of the finishing on microCloud pillows ?

microCloud pillows are classically finished with a gusset-style design, superbly sewn with piping as a trim.

Should pillow protectors be used?

Based on our research, protectors definitely should be used. microCloud has developed its own first-class protector that is non-pilling, smooth as silk, breathable, non-shrink, washes superbly and is tumble dryable. Every microCloud Standard and King size pillow comes complete with two free microCloud pillow protectors.

How do I care for a microCloud pillow?

After use, plump up the microCloud pillow to make it look best for your guests. If necessary, microCloud pillows can be machine washed and tumble dried. Note, however, never to dry clean pillows.

What pillow sizes do you have?

We have two convenient sizes: standard, 45 x 70cm, and king size, 48 x 90cm.  (sizes are approximate)

What are the key benefits of microCloud pillows?

microCloud pillows are designed specifically for guest satisfaction and comfort. Anti-bacterial, anti-dust mite and hypoallergenic, our pillows are treated with HealthGuard to ensure they feel fresh and healthy.

Tested and approved for commercial washing and drying, microCloud pillows feel like goose down pillows. They are number one for immediate comfort because each guest can shape them to suit their needs. In addition, microCloud pillows offer outstanding value for luxury, as supported by our no-fuss 1-year warranty.

Why is sleep so important?

The body cannot perform at its best without a good quality, well-supported sleep. Think about how terrible you feel after a poor night's sleep, and then consider the sleeping environment you provide for your guests.

microCloud Quilts (Doonas, Duvets)

Are microCloud quilts available for purchase directly by the public?

Yes. We are always pleased to assist with all enquiries from the general public and we deliver all over Australia.

Why are quilts better than blankets?

Australians simply love quilts and they are the preference of the majority of guests. The retail scene, which is the best barometer of what is happening, clearly conveys this popularity – a trend that has been increasing for the past 25 years. There are those that prefer blankets but they are now in the minority. Therefore, when guests stay at your property, chances are they will prefer what they enjoy at home, and this is most likely to be quilts. It is also interesting to note that of the major brand hotels, which do their research very carefully, virtually all are using quilts.

So why are quilts so popular?

The influence of especially European trends in bedding has had a significant impact on our own bedding tastes. About 35 years ago, the first quilts emerged in Australia and since then demand has been explosive. The comfort factor of a quilt and the relaxed, less restricted way of sleeping, has left blankets way behind. The classic line of 'warmth without weight' is what really propelled the popularity of quilts in this country and will certainly continue to do so.

What is the difference between quilts, duvets and doonas?

Fortunately, there is no difference at all. They all describe the same item. The word 'duvet' originated in Europe; quilt is the common term of reference in Australia; and 'Doona' is a brand name that has become a generic term for quilt.

Why create a microCloud quilt?

Our design team researched the commonly used quilts and our research team investigated peoples' likes and dislikes. What we discovered was that:

  • numerous quilts are simply too heavy and too hot
  • wool quilts were not too hot but were too heavy
  • cheap polyester quilts were uncomfortable, too stiff and didn't last long
  • feather-type quilts rated poorly due to odour problems and allergy issues and prickly quills
  • silk rated very highly on all fronts except price, being very expensive.

It was clear to us that a fresh new approach to quilts was needed, one that took into account people's sleeping preferences.

Why is the microCloud quilt superior?

The microCloud quilt is ultra-lightweight, has superb drape, is comfortably warm without overheating, allows airflow to assist with comfort, is odourless and has been tested for commercial laundering. The all-important HealthGuard treatment ensures protection against bacteria, moulds and dust mites. In short, the microCloud quilt has been designed specifically for hotel guests and the needs of the accommodation market in Australasia.

What about its appearance on the bed?

microCloud quilt looks superb on the bed, especially when the popular triple sheeting method of dressing is used. Feedback from our many clients using these quilts has assured us that our design team have achieved their aims.

Can these quilts be used in all climates?

microCloud ultra-lightweight quilts have been on the market now for over six years with sales to different climates and situations. Because we genuinely care about our clients and their guests, we contact buyers for feedback after microCloud bedding has been in use for 2 to 3 months. We can happily report that our microCloud quilts have been a very clear winner in hot and cool climates as well as in summer and winter. We do at all times, however, continue to seek to top our own level of excellence.

What is the best way to store a quilt?

To store your quilt when not in use, we recommend vacuum storage bags (also know as 'Space Bags') which are readily available at large stores such as Bunnings and Big W. Do make sure that your quilt is clean and dry before storage.

Are your quilts cruelty-free or Vegan?

Yes. Most conventional quilts use feathers or down. These are harvested via live plucking, a process whereby live birds are held down by their necks and workers will pluck feathers from their bodies. It's not uncommon for the geese or ducks to have a wing or leg broken in the process.

microCloud Quilts are innovative as they do not use any animal products and are 100% cruelty-free. Instead they are filled with a unique blend of hi-tech man-made fibres that achieve a similar luxurious feel to pure goose down and very similar thermal efficiency too. This is why our quilts are so popular among the Vegan market.

Is the outer casing fabric important to quality?

It is critically important. A superb quilt must use outstanding textiles as a minimum. microCloud designers and our QA team tested many casing fabrics to ensure only the finest was selected. Our 'super soft' pure cotton, high thread count japara ticked all the boxes. Superb breathability, soft to touch, durable and low shrink are all vital benefits. In addition, the precise attention to detail in sewing and finishing sets microCloud quilts in a class all of their own.

What Quilt sizes do you have?

We have a complete size range:  (sizes are approximate)

  • single 140 x 210 cm

microCloud Mattress Toppers/Bed Toppers

Are microCloud mattress toppers available for purchase directly by the public?

Yes. We are always pleased to assist with all enquiries from the general public and we deliver all over Australia.

What is a mattress topper?

Mattress toppers (also known as bed toppers) are designed to add a luxuriously soft layer of comfort to the sleeping surface of your mattress. The best quality toppers are generously filled, don't go flat or sag easily and implement a 'boxed' design to create cells ensuring even distribution of filling throughout the topper.

Why consider mattress toppers – what's the fuss?

The key reason is to create the most comfortable bed possible. Moreover, mattresses generally cannot, or do not, achieve this level of comfort even with 'built-in' toppers. New, firm mattresses may last the long haul, but in most cases they are so firm that they are uncomfortable; old mattresses often need a makeover. The microCloud mattress topper is a great solution to these problems.

Do mattress toppers work?

Feedback from within Australia shows that mattress toppers have become the new darling of the bed scene. They are now a most sought-after bedding item and are being enjoyed with outstanding feedback from a number of hotels, as seen by the positive guest comments we have received. So popular are the toppers that many retailers are now selling them; however, very few retailers are selling 'authentic hotel quality toppers'.

What makes a mattress topper so comfortable?

We have achieved this comfort with an uncompromising attitude to quality, excellence and integrity. In practical terms, this means our toppers, which have been tested, refined and retested to achieve top marks, will ultimately be the best result for your guests. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well. Moreover, the topper is not an exception to this.

Can you use an electric blanket with a mattress topper?

Yes. Put the electric blanket over the mattress first, and then the topper over the electric blanket. Adjust the heat setting to suit.

Do microCloud toppers overheat?

microCloud toppers are designed to ventilate and breathe well by encouraging airflow. The construction of our topper consists of ultra-fine fibre filling (almost finer than human hair!), and a Japara cotton casing. This combination allows air to flow through easily, ensuring the mattress topper is temperature neutral. Various other mattress toppers on the market are made from foams, latex and ball fibre which are naturally dense materials and trap heat.

Are your mattress toppers cruelty-free or Vegan?

Yes. Most conventional mattress toppers use feathers or down. These are harvested via live plucking, a process whereby live birds are held down by their necks and workers will pluck feathers from their bodies. It's not uncommon for the geese or ducks to have a wing or leg broken in the process.

microCloud Mattress Toppers are innovative as they do not use any animal products and are 100% cruelty-free. Instead they are filled with a unique blend of hi-tech man-made fibres that achieve a similar luxurious feel as pure goose down. A bonus is that the microCloud fibre filling has been crafted to provide better 'bounce-back' than goose down or feathers which means the topper does not flatten easily. This is why our topper is so popular among the Vegan market.

What makes microCloud toppers so unique and sought after?

We have a lot to thank our design team for, and the support from hotels and guests who have worked with us to ensure an outstanding result with the microCloud toppers. Generously filled with our unique microCloud high-tech filling, they are the perfect world of luxury and longevity.

The essence of these toppers is to create an immediate 'wow' response. When the guests experience the microCloud topper, they feel immediate comfort and satisfaction. This reaction is what makes microCloud toppers the number one value in luxury toppers today. The feedback we constantly receive from guests and delighted hotel management reflects its popularity and underlines the passion invested in its creation.

Are microCloud toppers long-lasting?

Our mattress topper has a 3-year warranty. Because of this and the outstanding quality of our topper, your costs will effectively be cheaper in the long term.

What is the best way to store a topper?

If you need to store your topper, we recommend vacuum storage bags (also know as 'Space Bags') which are readily available at large stores such as Bunnings and Big W. Do make sure that your topper is clean and dry before storage.

Comfort is vital but what else is?

microCloud toppers offer some outstanding additional benefits: they are light and easy for housekeeping to manage (think OH&S); are clean and fresh with the HealthGuard advantage; hypoallergenic; come with a fully fitted skirt for a sure fit; and (proudly) do not contain prickly feathers. Moreover, being a microCloud product, they are commercially washable and dryable, when the need arises. All these benefits combine to make a microCloud topper outstanding value for the luxury they provide.

Do mattress toppers need protection from soiling?

It makes perfect sense to protect the topper from soiling. Our design team, combined with input from executive housekeepers, certainly believe that to maintain a topper in perfect, fresh, and healthy condition is just as important as doing the same for pillows and mattresses. Our mattress & topper protectors are perfect to be used as a complete protection for our toppers.

What size mattress toppers do you have?

We have a full range of sizes:  (sizes are approximate)

  • single 91 x 188cm
  • double 137 x 188cm
  • queen 152 x 203cm
  • king 182 x 203cm
  • super king 203 x 203cm
  • king single 107 x 203cm
  • long single 93 x 203cm

microCloud Mattress & Topper Protector

Are microCloud mattress protectors available for purchase directly by the public?

Yes. We are always pleased to assist with all enquiries from the general public and we deliver all over Australia.

How important is it to use a mattress protector?

All mattresses should be adequately protected. Your mattress investment was no doubt considerable so protecting that investment to assist a longer life and avoid any damage is critical. The problem is that few mattress protectors actually offer outstanding protection.

What type of mattress protector should be used?

Protectors that don't adequately protect are not a genuine solution to the problem. Quilted cotton protectors are actually porous to liquids and fail to stop staining. They also shrink terribly (just have a look at your mattress protector; you may be in for a shock). Those annoying corner straps often tear away and lose their elasticity. These factors add up to inadequate protection for the expense.

A microCloud mattress protector does the job of keeping your mattress soil-free, healthy and hygienic for the comfort of your guests.

What is so special about microCloud Mattress & Topper Protectors?

These high-tech protectors use new textile technology to do the job of protection superbly. Made from carefully selected super soft cotton and laminated with a first-class polyurethane backing, this combination ensures:

  • outstanding comfort for guests
  • assured protection of the mattress against soiling, perspiration, grime, liquid spills and accidents and dust mites
  • breathability

The durable fully fitted stretch skirt is suitable for all mattress depths to ensure a secure, snug fit. microCloud mattress protectors are longer lasting, have virtually no shrinkage and are commercially tested for washing.

What about protection for mattress toppers?

It is strongly advised that you protect toppers, and keep them fresh and near new, as you would mattresses. microCloud Mattress & Topper Protectors are ideal for protecting toppers and are currently used successfully by many properties.

microCloud Mattresses

Why is it so hard finding the right mattress?

The market is flooded with so many options, mattress ‘sales’ and gimmicky ‘technologies’ that often finding the right mattress can become quite overwhelming. We've taken the hassle out of that process with one superior and luxurious option to accommodate for the majority of sleeping requirements and weights.

Our microCloud mattress is a premium-quality luxury hotel mattress that has gone through extensive development and testing to provide the ultimate sleeping experience. No gimmicks, no marketing tricks – just a mattress of exceptional quality.

How do you find the right mattress?

Everyone needs a mattress that addresses the fundamental areas of support, comfort and pressure point relief. Our microCloud mattress uses comfort foam and pocket-spring technology that work in tandem to mould ideally to your individual requirements and offer enhanced support in the areas that you need it most. Each microCloud mattress also comes with our first-class microCloud plush mattress topper and microCloud mattress protector as extra components for a plush, blissful sleep.

Do you use latex or memory foam?

No, we do not use either material. Our extensive research and testing indicates that these materials are unable to circulate air and commonly contribute to overheating and excessive perspiration.

How are your mattresses made?

Due to our dedication to quality control, every microCloud mattress is hand made to order by skilled craftsmen in Australia, allowing us to oversee and approve the production of every single mattress.

Are your mattresses expensive?

Because there is no middleman we are able to offer very competitive prices on our mattresses. We think you’ll be very pleased with the value for money of our mattress package. Call now for pricing.

Can I purchase just the mattress?

No, each microCloud mattress comes with our first-class microCloud plush mattress topper and microCloud mattress protector as extra components for a plush, blissful sleep. The mattress is specifically designed to combine with these components to provide the best comfort and support results. The mattress can be purchased without the base which comes as an optional extra.

What does the 10 year warranty cover?

We stand proudly behind our microCloud mattress with a 10 year warranty that covers any material or workmanship defect arising during this period.

How long will it take to get my mattress?

Each microCloud mattress is hand made to order so processing and fabrication times vary. Delivery times and methods also vary from state to state. We will be in contact with you every step of the way to make sure you receive your microCloud mattress in a timely manner and can tailor delivery to suit you.

How do I get rid of my old mattress? What happens to it / do you offer a collection service?

We don’t currently have a collection service, however it would be our pleasure to recommend someone in your area. Feel free to contact us directly for more information.

Can I test out the mattress before I buy?

Our mattresses are available online only and we find that the idea of testing mattresses before you buy just does not work. We hear so many stories of people who go out on an endless and awkward journey trying various mattresses in retail stores, having them delivered and not being satisfied with the outcomes. In reality, lying on a mattress for a few minutes on a shop floor bears no comparison to your own bedroom overnight where you can experience a full sleep cycle. We believe that our microCloud mattress and topper combination will provide a luxurious and restful experience for all.

What if I don't like it straight away?

It is completely natural for the body to adjust and realign to the new bed setting and mattress and this may take some time. We find that most customers have been sleeping on a mattress that hasn’t been supporting them in the right way and their body has adapted to this poor sleeping environment over a long period of time. It is completely normal to expect your body to adjust to the microCloud mattress that supports you where you need it.

How do I care for my mattress?

Please ensure you rotate the mattress every two weeks for the first three months. Rotation of the mattress should occur monthly thereafter. The microCloud Mattress Topper and microCloud Mattress Protector should be used with the mattress to ensure it remains fresh and clean all the time.

Can you do split king?

Yes, each microCloud mattress is made to order and we can configure two long singles integrated with a zip-through centre join. This is a preferred configuration among hotels, motels, holiday houses and other rental properties ensuring flexibility and convenience for guest arrangements.

What sizes do you have?

We want everyone to experience the luxury and comfort of the microCloud mattress. We offer a range of sizes to suit your bedroom size and personal preference:

What type of base can I use with the microCloud mattress?

The microCloud mattress is designed to be used on any flat, stable and supportive surface. The base needs to have equal amount of support on the edges and the centre. Wooden slat and ensemble bases are recommended.

Make sure your base is the same size as the mattress! Note that IKEA bed bases are a different size from the Australian standard bed size so may not be suitable for your microCloud mattress. Ideally you can purchase the microCloud base which is perfectly designed to complement our mattress.

Can the mattress be purchased without the base?

Yes, the mattress can be purchased without the base. The base is an optional extra.

microCloud Robes

Are microCloud robes available for purchase directly by the public?

Yes. We are always pleased to assist with all enquiries from the general public and we deliver all over Australia.

Why are robes important for guests?

If you have a business aiming to pamper and spoil guests then the robe is a necessity, as it provides that extra special touch. The number of people posting and accessing online travel reviews is on the rise, so more than ever, spoiling your guests is essential.

What's wrong with terry towel robes?

Terry towel cotton robes may look sumptuous but their loop threads catch easily and pull, very quickly making a robe look second-hand and not so new. Moreover, they are quite heavy and shrinkage may be a concern; factors that can make terry towel robes a costly mistake.

Why not waffle robes?

They look nice and are lighter in weight than terry robes but they do not offer something special; passable in some regards but certainly not outstanding nor '5 star'.

What makes a microCloud 'snuggle' robe so much better?

The microCloud snuggle robe is unique, often provoking a 'wow' reaction from the guest. Our robes offer an immediate feeling of softness and comfort; they really make your skin feel like it being soothed by mink glove! Lighter in weight than most robes, they don't feel heavy or cumbersome to wear.

What fabric are the Robes made of?

microCloud snuggle robes are made from a high-tech, revolutionary, superfine, man-made fabric that rates highly for superior comfort and durability.

What about sizing?

Our research team found that people do not like tight-fitting robes, preferring to chill out in something more open and comfortable. The microCloud 'snuggle' robe is generous in size, with its 'one size fits most' part of its allure. Convenient for properties, spas and salons to purchase, these oversized robes allow guests to easily snuggle up, relax, unwind and drift away – and leaving a lasting impression with your guests.

How well do they commercially launder?

As with all microCloud branded products, we are dedicated to ensuring our luxury robe launders superbly. Testing of the robe was undertaken at a reputable, first-class commercial laundry. Colour integrity, surface appearance, no shrinkage and softness retention all passed with ease. Because these robes do not shed fibres and are not the terry towel loop style, there is never any problem with pulled threads. Your robe will look immaculate guest after guest; an important factor given first appearances are often the most critical.

Do you have a colour selection?

We only offer a superb 'polar' white, in the true '5 star' hotel tradition expected by many guests. (Right in line with the timelessness of thick, crisp white linen and immaculate white towels.)

Are they suitable for spas as well as hotels?

Most definitely. Spas focus on spoiling and pampering their clients, too. Indulging your clients in a memorable experience with a microCloud snuggle robe sits perfectly with the pampered, cared for feel of a spa.

Can properties offer these robes to guests and clients?

Of course! Offer the robe that a guest has fallen in love with makes perfect business sense – and the margins will make your accountant/management take notice as well.

Recently, a hotel in Victoria acquired a trial lot of robes in order to obtain guest reaction. Such was the positive reaction that within a week they trebled the order and have plans to have a snuggle robe in every room! They are intending to promote and sell these robes to guests who want to leave with their own piece of hotel luxury.

Are they great value?

Absolutely and definitely! In fact, they can be viewed as not a cost but actually an asset to your property.

Product care

How can I clean my microCloud products?

All of the microCloud range can be machine washed. Please refer to the care label on your product for specific care instructions.

For bulky items, such as mattress toppers and quilts, we strongly advise washing at a local laundry which has commercial machines.

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification

What is Oeko-Tex certification?

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent certification system for textile products of all kinds which have been proved to be free of any substances which might be harmful to people's health.

In order for an article to be certified and endorsed with the OEKO-TEX® label, every part of it without exception must comply with the required test criteria - so not only the outer material and the sewing yarns but also accessories such as ribbons, cords and filling.

What does the Oeko-Tex® certification testing include?

The testing for harmful substances is based on an extensive list of criteria which is updated annually and sets out requirements for safe textile products that apply universally worldwide. The test criteria covers legally banned and regulated substances as well as chemicals that are harmful to the health but for which there are not yet any statutory regulations. Importantly, the test criteria are always adapted to the actual intended use of a textile item.

Who does the testing?

Laboratory testing and certification of textile products is carried out by one of the 16 accredited OEKO-TEX® test institutes in Europe and Japan. The OEKO-TEX® member institutes also carry out control tests for textile products after certification to ensure continued compliance with the required criteria.

Why is the Oeko-Tex® certification important?

The safety of our bedding is a quality aspect that cannot be determined through visual inspection alone. The proof that our bedding does not contain unwanted harmful substances can only be ascertained beyond doubt through specific laboratory tests. Through the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 we are able to assure you that our bedding is harmless to your health yet still has all the product characteristics that are important such as: breathability, comfort, durability, low shrink and luxury feel.

Do all microCloud products have Oeko-Tex® certification?

Currently our mattress topper, quilt, mattress protector, quilt protector and pillow protector have been tested and have the Oeko-Tex® certification.

Where can I find out more about the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100?

The Oeko-Tex website contains full information about the testing processes and other information about the certification.
